KYPARISSI

Location

Kyparissi is a beautiful isolated village, on the east coast of Peloponnese between Leonidio in the North and Monemvasia in the South. The village is really where the road ends, about 4.5 hours drive from Athens. It was even isolated from the rest of Greece until 1970, when it was connected by road to Sparta. In the past, access to the village was only possible by a path from the mountain or by ferry from Piraeus. In 2002, the ferry connection was also interrupted and only the difficult road from Sparta remained, the last ten kilometers of which take the breath away even for climbers, since they pass between rocky slopes with continuous cliffs lurking at the edge.

In Kyparissi, although it is small, you will find Taverns, Restaurants, cafes, Supermarket, bakery, pastry shop, butcher, basketball court, soccer field and playground.

The nearest gas station, bank and pharmacy are in Molaus (50 km).

Gerakas

Gerakas is a small seaside village, which is literally built inside a fjord! Not in Norway, but in the Peloponnese and specifically on the eastern coast of the prefecture of Laconia. Fortunately or unfortunately, not many people know about it, even though it is only 22 km away from the popular Monemvasia.

Githio

A beautiful state with an island color, Gythio, the seat of the municipality of the same name, spreads amphitheatrically along the coastal zone with taverns, restaurants, coffee bars and hotels. The imposing two- and three-story neoclassical buildings, which bear witness to the glory of the past, the traditional houses, the picturesque staircases and the beautiful churches, the harbor with the busy marble quay, the caiques and the fishing boats make up a distinct residential complex.

Monemvasia

Inside the medieval walls of Monemvasia is one of the most well-preserved and lively castle towns in Greece, which gathers fanatical visitors all year round. Dozens of churches, mansions of rich merchants, fountains, hammams and winding cobblestones are kept in remarkably good condition, preserving the atmosphere of this settlement, which from the Byzantine years until the 19th century played an important role in the history of the wider area. No cars are allowed inside the castle, so be prepared to walk.
